The fuel economy of the Ford F-150 varies across different models and configurations. The 2WD models equipped with 6-cylinder engines, such as the 2.7L and 3.5L, achieve around 18 MPG in the city. But they range from 24 to 25 MPG on the highway, resulting in a combined fuel economy of 21 MPG.
The 2WD models with the 3.3L V6 and 5.0L V8, offer a slightly lower city fuel economy of 16 to 19 MPG. But they have comparable highway fuel efficiency of 22 to 25 MPG, resulting in a combined fuel economy of 20 MPG.
The 2WD HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) Ford Maverick model with a 3.5L V6 engine, however, provides impressive fuel economy. It has a combined fuel economy of 25 MPG.

The Ford Maverick, depending on the engine, has a torque of 155 lb.-ft to 277 lb.-ft. The Torque of the Ford 150, on the other hand, ranges from 265 lb.-ft to 640 lb.-ft. This makes the Ford F150 better suited for off-roading based on only torque.
Torque is an important factor when it comes to driving off-road. As shown earlier, the 2.0 L EcoBoost gives you more torque compared to the 2.5 L FHEV engine when it comes to Ford Maverick. So, if you are going to be purchasing a Ford Maverick for driving off-road, get the 2.0 L EcoBoost engine.
But the Ford F150 simply gives you much more torque. As a matter of fact, the F150 offers you a 5.2 L Supercharged High Output V8 just for this purpose. This engine produces 640 lb.-ft torque at 4,250 rpm and only comes with the Ford F150 Raptor.
Base Curb Weight
The base curb weight of the Ford Maverick is only 3,563 lbs. to 3,731 lbs. In contrast, the base curb weight of the Ford F150 ranges from 4,021 lbs. to 5,886 lbs. This makes the Ford F150 significantly heavier than the Ford Maverick.
